I decided eight years ago to get into great physical shape and have a private trainer 5 days a week. It's the best investment you can make in yourself is to remain healthy.

Still enjoy horseback riding, skiing, interior design and assisting others with choosing artwork for their homes.

I remember being in the ski club and getting stuck on a chair lift at night with David Yeh. It was bitterly cold and the lift swung back and forth over the snowmaking chute. I can still feel the sting of those little granules of fake snow hitting my face...damn I was cold! Thanks David for keeping me warm high up in the air at Seven Springs.
How many of you remember Mr. McCann, the AP English teacher? That man taught me how to write a paper so that by the time I hit college I could write and type it almost at the same time.
Once I had gone to a party and had not spent the time writing and rewriting a paper. He would correct papers with a red pen as you sat at your desk..then look you dead in the eye. So, as he is slashing my paper to death he asks the profound question, "Miss Lackner, you couldn't have spent five days working on this paper, now did you?" "Ahhhh....no? I guess not." Back to my desk with a paper that looked like someone had taken a hatchet to it. But boy, did I learn how to write..he was a terrific teacher.
Monette's mom in the grocery store:
Monette's mom was a staple in the frozen food section of the grocery store in July. I can vividly see her today dressed in a full length mink coat and hat buying frozen foods. By the time she hit the canned foods section off came the mink and the hat. Then she would curse the fact that she had forgotten something in the frozen foods section...back on went the mink coat and hat. Then, they would come back off as she loaded the car up in 90 degree heat. Still makes me laugh, Monette!
