Wow, It is hard to believe that it has been more than twelve years since I retired from the Navy. The time has flown by so quickly.
There was little keeping us in Virginia Beach since both our kids moved away, so we just up and sold our house and moved back to the Burgh. We now live in McMurray. We still have some relatives in the area, and even though we lived in Virginia Beach for 35 years, Pittsburgh always felt like home. (I've shoveled more snow this winter than in the last 35 years combined.) I love snow!
I also like growing vegetables and have a big garden. My neighborhood knows me as the "free vegetable" guy.
Our plans include a lot of camping in our motorhome (actually "glamping").
I meet up with Hugh "Jamie" Kearney twice a year at science fiction conventions near Baltimore MD. I found my old year book and we looked through it for hours. (Wow, did I really wear that suit for my senior picture?)
I wasn't involved in many activities which occurred after school, except theatre. I worked nights at the old G.C Murphy's which was in Lebanon shops on Mt. Lebanon Blvd. (Yes, the one that had the big fire.) Then I worked at Mr. Magic Car wash. For the longest time, I walked to school but then paid $400 for my first car, a blue VW bug. I loved the car and remember driving all through the nasty winter of 1977, going to the South Park skating rink, Danny's pizza, etc.
My favorite teacher was my home room teacher, Mr. Stacy, who also taught biology and Advanced Topics in Biology. I thought that I would become a Marine Biologist, but that wasn't the direction life took me.
It turned out just fine any way.

Hi! We were in homeroom together. My sister is retired from the Navy in Virginia Beach. She was actually in Dam Neck.
