Hey Susan,

Wow! Great web site, bravo lady. How's my fellow Markham school classmate getting along?

I made the 10th, 20th, and things are looking good for an appearance at the 30th. Keep it quiet though, I don't want that information to drive the others away :)

It's funny how poking around this web site really starts the heart pumping again, remembering those younger days!!

Thanks again to you, and your fellow colleagues hard work putting all this together!

Eric

Yes, thank-you to all who are organizing the reunion!!
I hope to come but it's pretty unlikely due to schedule and logistics, but I never have much enjoyed big group social events anyway even though i love the one on one conversations.
I do want to say I am very interested in hearing personally from anyone who feels like writing, regardless of whether I knew you well back in high school or not!I just like hearing about where people are, how they got there, and what's important to them, or anything else, so please write if you want!!
warmly, tamara scarlett-lyon in seattle

If you think of how far technology has come in the 30 years since we graduated, it is amazing. I remember taking a computer class in High School and only computer took up an entire room, and stored your program on ticker tape.
We were lucky at Mt. Lebo, because we had an advanced class like computer programming, and since we had a computer that used ticker tape which was preferred over punch cards, the alternate storage technology. (If you dropped the hundreds of cards that made up a program with punch cards, it was a mess to put it back into order.)
In 1978, a calculator that simply added, subtracted, multiplied and divided cost about $80, so the thought of everyone having a PC at their home was crazy. The idea of a classmate webpage at all was inconceivable.
We have come a long way.
Thanks again Susan!

Hear, hear! Thanks to Susan and to all who've taken on this project. I am truly enjoying reading the profiles, learning about classmates' lives and passions and checking out the photos. I agree with Eric about feeling energized as we relive those carefree days! Rae's mullet photo is remarkable and her comments made me laugh out loud! I look forward to tuning in on a regular basis.

Are any teachers invited to the reunion, and/or does anyone know anything about any of them???

I think some of the teachers still teach there! At least a few of them did when my daughter started 4 years ago. I see Mark Pelusi's name on real estate signs around town. Mark McCloskey is head of the teachers union. Not sure where to look. Maybe I'll pull out the Log and google a few names. It would be fun to see some of them - and maybe a little scary.

Mark Pelusi goes to my parents church so he probably lives in Sunset Hills area and wasn't Mary Ann McCann married to Mark McCloskey-not sure if this is still the case.

Great job on the site...I am also enjoying looking at the profiles and seeing where everyone is at and what they are doing. I am hoping that we continue to have a good response...looking for a few more profiles to be completed...it cannot be any more difficult than running from the 1st floor of the fine arts section to the oposite end of the 6th floor for Seniorita Rita Rogges spanish class (and, of course, a stop off for a smoke in the middle of the run).

Thank you to all who have contributed to this great web site. After 20 years of absolutely no contact with fellow high school graduates, and minimal contact prior to that, I am having a blast catching up! I hope to see you all in October.

This an incredible website. The data and database all work seamlessly. Whatever that means. Plus, there are all the cool people listed and interacting. This interaction is way overdue. I wondered what the hell happened to all my friends over the years.

Yes, what wonderful people are showing up here. So many of the names listed are people i never heard of or barely knew in high school.
I was so into my own limited, fairly serious (but wonderful) (and i did find much to enjoy and laugh at!) life and group of friends in highschool, and I was so uninvolved with my classmates and life of the school, and was so dismissive of what seemed to be primarily a superficial culture that i was unable to fully appreciate the wonderful, complex, interesting, fun human beings surrounding me at the time.
I'm so sorry about that!
My son (now a sophomore at U. of MD after 1 year at Duquesne) had quite the opposite high school experience from me- he was mr social and definitely will have WAY more stories to share with his friends at his reunions than i do!!
But I can say thank you to all of you who are writing about yourselves and your memories here, and I mean it when i say i would find it an honor and a delight to talk in person with any one of you. I love hearing even just little bits of who you are. Thanks! tamara

Over the last few weeks it has been amazing to read peoples profiles and find out just where and what everyone is doing since our graduation.

High school had its ups and downs for me but on balance I wouldn't trade going anywhere else for my schooling. I don't think many of us knew just how great a school system we were in and I can tell you from living in rural Pennsylvania, we were blessed to go to Lebo. My own children can't even dream of the type of education I had and all of the "extras" that Mt. Lebanon afforded. My husband and I have to constantly add great opportunities for them like art classes at CMU(Hi Cindy Lammert and Sue Wilson) or take them to Phipps and the Scaife or Andy Warhol Museum.

I loved down hill skiing while at Lebo, horseback riding with Bernie Adams and the football games...great times..great people.

If we all remain healthy and happy, isn't that a testiment to the way we were all raised and the schooling that we received from Mt. Lebanon?

Keep writing folks...its been so much fun to read about each of you!

Hi, all. I'm having a great time reading everyone's information and I promise I'll get my info up to date as soon as possible. Anybody else in New York City? Call me! I was in Arkansas this past week visiting my parents and managed to snag a scary pic of Scott Anderson and me in our tuxes (pre-Snowball '77 ?) that I'll post as soon as I get a chance to scan it.

I don't mean to use this space for promotion, but since it's not for me and since it's Lebo-related, well here goes: Caroline Smith is an incredible 20 year-old singer songwriter based in Minneapolis. She's the daughter of Martha Byron, Lebo '76 and the niece of David Byron and Judy Hinchcliffe Byron, Lebo '78. Her band "The Good Night Sleeps" is playing at Shadow Lounge on August 20th (Baum Blvd. near Penn Ave.; call for time, it's not clear from the calendar). Info about Caroline and Shadow Lounge can be found here:

Look forward to hearing more and seeing everyone in October. Lance

This is a message to anyone who was in Mr. McCoy's homeroom. I did some research and found out that Mr. McCoy and his wife, Sandy, sold their home and everything else and purchased a boat which they have been sailing around different parts of the world.

He has a website and message board that you can access at: www.getjealous.com/smrwind.

Pretty cool thing to do.

It is great to see all the updates. What amazing talent to read about from physicians, actresses, musicians(who would have known we have a Beetles and Stones tribute band members in our class)and all around successful parents and people. Look forward to seeing all in October!

I seem to recall some of the musicians used to play in the park during high school and did a great job back then...it might be fun to hear a few tunes.

I do not know about anyone else, but I have spent a few evenings (once the kids go to bed) on this site...it has been fun reading what everyone else has done.
