Cindy Neuman (Overbye)

Suzy and I were neighbors when I moved to McCully Street while in Kindergarten until we moved to another home in the Lincoln School district while in 4th grade.  During those years she was my constant playmate.  We played in my kids cabin in our back yard,  ate purple grapes that grew behind our homes,  chased the goody-bar-man (what we called the ice cream truck).  We went shopping at Beverly Hills Pharmacy for penny candy that we could purchase after scrounging the alley behind the shops for tossed out pop bottles that were worth 2 cents each.  I remember sneaking cig butts out of Patti's car,  believing that she actually saw the Easter Bunny at her house,  or that she faked out the tooth fairy with a bunch of Kleenex under her pillow and still got left money. We colored pinecones and tried to sell them to neighbors as we loaded them into my red wagon and canvassed the neighborhood.    Tommy often joined us and we also had Sherry and my sister Mollie with us as well.     I wish we had maintained our friendship better once we moved.  I always look back at those years on McCully street with such fondness and love for the Scarvace family.
